I did this Nightmare Before Christmas canvas painting back in October. I got the idea from a creative craft group I am in on Facebook where the person went to painting with a twist, however, instead of painting on Jack, Sally, and Zero they used their Cricut machine to do that for them. Sadly I do not have a walk-thru process with this painting.

- 11×14 Canvas
- White Fabric coloring pencil
- Clear glow in the dark paint
- Transfer Tape
- Black vinyl
- Cricut machine
First I painted my whole canvas black and allowed it to dry, which took less than 30 minutes to an hour. I did another coat of black and allowed that to dry. Secondly, I traced with white fabric coloring pencil my design I wanted. I painted the tree, pumpkins, hills, Oogie Boogie face, and moon outlet. I added the lines to the tree next and did my best at the pumpkins faces, which are not to bad. Because hey I am not a perfect artist at all nor will I ever claim to be.
The moon, I used orange, yellow, orange/yellow mix and white. I allowed everything on the canvas to dry. I then decided to get crazy with the background with lines here and there, splatters here and there. I set that aside for the night and resumed in the morning applying clear glow in the dark to the moon and the Oogie Boogie’s face. I probably applied four-six coats of the glow in the dark. Whoops.
Finally, after you are satisfied with your painting you then want to add Jack, Sally and Zero vinyl to the canvas.
Here is the glow in the dark results!
