These DIY mason jars pin cushions are seriously the cutest thing ever. They are the perfect gifts for sewers and crafters alike! I made two big mason jars for the button collection that’s going on at the house and a smaller jar for my sewing pins. I love it! Granted the first attempt I made the cushion a bit too big. Oh well, still looks adorable. I also decided to make another mason jar pin cushion for someone as a Christmas gift. Seriously you guys these things are amazing. So I decided in my fourth time creating the DIY mason jar pin cushion I would do a full on walkthru. I made sure this DIY tutorial is simple and easy to follow with the pictures.

DIY Mason Jar Pin Cushion Tutorial
Determine what fabric you want to use as your pin cushion. I went with a metallic material that I got off remnants a while back.
Trace with disappearing ink or any fabric pen/pencil the circle. Cut out the circle.
My circle is not 100% perfect and that is okay.
Next, you want to sew around the edges with your thread and needle. It doesn’t need to be perfect. Nobody sees this part.
Add polyester stuffing as more or as little as you want. Make sure at this point to plug in your hot glue gun.
While you are waiting for your hot glue gun to warm up trace the lid cap onto felt.
And of course, make sure to cut the felt circle out.
Place the second lid cap inside of the fabric/polyester stuffing. Make sure to pull the string on the fabric so it can close as much as it can. Don’t worry this is where we use hot glue!
I like to hot glue the edges down and put a crapload of hot glue in the middle to apply the felt on.
Apply the felt to the center before it dries out quickly.
This will be your ending results. If you stuffed your pin cushion a lot just push it thru and it will go thru.
Here is the ending result from this tutorial pin cushion. I should have added more polyester though hey it still works and I didn’t need to silently weep in any corner crying.
Congratulations you just got done making your mason jar pin cushion.
